In the last few months various companies, starting with OpenAI/Microsoft, released different generative Artificial Intelligence tools for public use. Immediately educators wondered about the impact on teaching and learning. How effective are the tools? What are their limitations? Will students be able to generate solutions to assignments using them?
We have hosted and participated in several conversations with faculty, staff, and students from across campus. To help educators navigate offering classes and learning experience as these tools proliferate and improve, DCAL and LDI collaborated to create initial guidance and a set of resources for faculty. We've created this as a google doc so that we can update it as the environment changes. However, if you'd like a snapshot of the resource at this moment in time, you may download the PDF version of the guide.
