In this session, you will learn to create accessible Word documents using your syllabus (or another document of your choice). We will discuss basic principles of Word document accessibility and walk through supports available in Microsoft Word. We will use the majority of the time workshopping participants’ documents. Participants in this session will:

  • Gain practical strategies to create inclusive syllabi that meet diverse student needs.

  • Learn best practices for accessible syllabus design, including document formatting, alt text for images, clear language, and effective organization. 

Come to this session and equip yourself with tools to create inclusive syllabi and contribute to an equitable and inclusive academic community.
