Registration required.

In the final fall meeting of the Accessible Dartmouth Initiative Podcast Group, we will spend the first hour in a semi-structured discussion of assessment strategies and UDL. After comparing notes and strategies gleaned from podcast episodes, participants can opt to stay for an additional 30 minutes (4-4:30pm) to engage in working groups and one-on-one discussions with Accessible Dartmouth Initiative team members. During the working group portion, participants will spend time making edits to an assessment from a current or future course. This session will take place in person and virtually. Please email Carly Lesoski (carly.m.lesoski@dartmouth.edu) with any questions.

Read the descriptions of the following podcast episodes. Choose at least 1 episode and listen to and/or read the transcript. We highly recommend that you take notes on points that are salient and interesting to you, including major takeaways and questions you might have. Consider using the guiding questions below to help with your notetaking.

The estimated time commitment for this session is 2 hours (1 hour of preparation and 1 hour of discussion during the live session.)

Guiding questions

  • How do the podcasters define assessment and describe its goals?
  • List strategies the podcasters recommend that are particularly interesting or relevant to your context. How might you implement these in your course?

Bring questions you would like to discuss with the group.

Episodes are available at the links below, as well as on major streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.)
