Anti-Racist Pedagogy: Teaching for Justice

Participants in this workshop will discuss and anti-racist strategies in relation to their own teaching practice.

Anti-racism is the active process of dismantling the systems, structures, policies, practices, and attitudes that uphold racism and the unequal distribution of power. Anti-racist pedagogy asks us to interrogate and disrupt these same inequities within our classrooms and educational institutions. As such, participants in this workshop will discuss and anti-racist strategies in relation to their own teaching practice. Areas of focus include the anti-racist syllabus and fostering an anti-racist classroom.

This workshop is open to faculty and staff educators from all backgrounds, disciplines, identities, ranks, and depths of experience with anti-racism.
