"We would never go back to teaching the way we did before. It so clearly benefits the students, and it's a lot more fun for us," says Professor of Biology Thomas Jack of his experience redesigning his Biology 13 course with the support of instructional designers, media educators, librarians, and undergraduate Learning Fellows.
Jack's course was part of DCAL's Gateway Initiative, an effort that aims to enhance individualized learning and improve educational outcomes for students by redesigning foundational and larger-enrollment undergraduate courses.
The Gateway Initiative is accepting proposals now through April 7 for its next round of courses. Faculty in the Arts & Sciences are encouraged to apply!
