Dartmouth-hosted and commercial tools

Dartmouth provides several approved Generative AI (GenAI) tools for faculty, staff, and students. Not all tools are appropriate for every type of data; visit the AI Data Sensitivity Guide to determine which of the tools listed below are appropriate for your data level.

Dartmouth Chat

You can access an array of Dartmouth-hosted open models and tools, as well as commercial tools, at Dartmouth Chat. For helpful tools to get you started, check out the Using Dartmouth Chat page.

Claude for Education

Claude for Education, an enterprise GenAI tool featuring enhanced security, is available to all Dartmouth employees and students. Access the toolreview the FAQs, or learn more about signing in to your account for the first-time.

Microsoft Copilot

All Dartmouth users also have access to Microsoft Copilot with commercial data protection. Optional Copilot for Microsoft 365 licenses are available to purchase from the Computer Store; this version integrates with and assists users with a wider array of tasks in the Microsoft 365 suite.
