Jessica began her path in higher education as an adjunct instructor, drawing on her academic training in cultural anthropology (MA and BA) to foster inclusive learning and shared inquiry. That early experience shaped her commitment to faculty support and learner-centered teaching. At Tufts University, she contributed research and materials to help launch a faculty excellence initiative that fostered collaborative learning and pedagogical change. At the University of New Hampshire, she supported professional and organizational development efforts that helped grow leadership from within and foster a more connected community.
With more than 25 years of experience in communications and engagement across academic, research, and public sectors, Jessica specializes in translating complex ideas into clear communications that connect with diverse audiences. From editing books for scholarly presses to redesigning websites, flyers, and data visualizations—she works to create inclusive messaging and materials that are streamlined, accessible, and engaging.
As DCAL's newest addition, Jessica is working to enhance and extend the center's communications and marketing strategy—building on a strong foundation to deepen faculty engagement. She'll help amplify educator voices, highlight innovative approaches, and increase visibility and engagement with DCAL's programming across Dartmouth's educator community.
When she's not at work, Jessica enjoys walking in the woods with her husband, Shawn, and their dogs, knitting (scarves only; nothing tricky!), Duolingo-ing (French and chess), and traveling.
