Bringing transparency to teaching and learning can have significant benefits for student success—particularly among students underserved in higher education–and instructor satisfaction. In this session, participants will revise an assignment or assessment using the Transparency in Learning and Teaching (TiLT) framework. By clarifying the assignment’s purpose, tasks, and criteria, instructors will uncover implicit assumptions, ease their grading burden, and increase the likelihood that students will meet their expectations. Participants are asked to bring an existing assignment or assessment that they wish to revise during the session. Good candidates for revision include assignments that are difficult to evaluate, that students struggle with in surprising ways, or that produce particularly poor results.

Lunch will be provided. Please register.
