Course evaluations can be valuable sources of information about our teaching, but can also be easily misinterpreted or misunderstood, and reflect inherent biases. Participants in this session will review the literature on student evaluations of teaching and discuss best practices for reading and interpreting them. The session will consider different perspectives including that of an instructor, a writer/reader of a letter or recommendation, a chair, and an administrator. Lunch will be provided.
Session participants (and all others!) are invited to schedule a course evaluation consultation with a DCAL or Learning Design staff member to discuss the specifics of your course evaluations. Sign-ups available at the session or by emailing email@example.com.
