Jessica Tong ’17, a philosophy major and government minor from Sydney, Australia, is a recipient of the Dartmouth Stamps Scholar Award. Her project, “Untold Stories from the Chinese Cultural Revolution,” aims to reveal personal histories from that period. Tong is working under the guidance of her research mentor, Nien Lin Xie.

An avid traveler from a young age, linguistics major Maggie Baird ’18 has already spent time in 30 countries. Most recently, Baird, a recipient of a Dartmouth Stamps Scholarship, was in northern France, where she interviewed a native speaker of Gulmancema for her current research project.
