AJS - Diversity Statements & Peer Review

Join us to talk about writing a diversity statement for the academic job market. Please register.

Tuesday, September 20, 2022
12:30pm – 2:00pm
DCAL, 102 Baker Library
Intended Audience(s): Faculty, Postdoc, Students-Graduate
Categories: Workshops & Training
Registration required.

Academic institutions want to hire faculty who are committed to educating a diverse population of students. Diversity statements are becoming a more common part of the required application materials. Come to this session to discuss what to include in your diversity statement to demonstrate your ability to teach and mentor all students. Please register.

You are invited (and it's recommended!) to sign up for a second in-person only session on "Peer Review" to learn ways to give feedback and review each other's statements after learning about them in the sessions on Writing a Teaching/Diversity Statement.

This event is designed to be in person with a remote option to accommodate those who cannot make it in person due to illness or being away from campus. The remote experience may not be equivalent to the in-person one and technology is not always reliable, but I’ll do my best to include you!
