The National Science Foundation (NSF) is the Federal agency charged with supporting basic scientific research, and its mandate covers a wide range of basic scientific research and engineering in non-Defense and non-medical related fields.  Lisa Rom has worked with NSF for thirty years in a variety of management positions and is currently the Program Director for the Ocean Education Program and the Polar Education Liaison for the Office of Polar Programs.  Jen Mercer is the Arctic Research Support and Logistics Manager in the Office of Polar Programs and is a Dartmouth alumna.

Careers at NSF include opportunities to work on science management and science policy at many levels. We’ll answer as many questions as possible about the NSF and careers in science management in general.
