Managing stress is a critical component of a student’s wellness portfolio, but strategies to do so are often informally taught. This can impact a student's performance and presence in the classroom, placing us, as TAs and instructors, on the frontlines of student support. Please join us for this month’s LCFF workshop led by Dr. Heather Earle, Director of the Counseling and Human Development Center at Dick’s House, and Tong Fei (M.S.W) Healthy Relationships and Sexual Health Expert from the Student Wellness Center. We will be discussing general on-campus resources, how to recognize and support students in crisis, and how to help students manage their stress in the classroom.

In order to cultivate a community focused on teaching and learning amongst graduate students and postdocs, DCAL has established a Learning Community for Future Faculty (LCFF). The focus of this group is to share the rewards and challenges of college teaching, while digging a bit deeper into best practices and techniques for teaching.  The LCFF meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month.
