Faculty Library Workshop
Within the library edition of the popular online genealogy collection, Ancestry, are thousands of discrete databases and resources of remarkable diversity, scope, and historical reach. The nature of these records remind us of something the best genealogists share with their students: the documents we use to reconstruct past lives and experiences were never intended for use by genealogists. Those of us with a wide range of academic interests in the past would do well to heed that observation. This presentation will describe how to search Ancestry’s catalog, demonstrate some of its varied resources, and offer potential directions for research and instruction.
Lunch will be provided, please register here: https://libcal.dartmouth.edu/event/4113977
