This is a monthly gathering of graduate students and postdocs talking about teaching and learning. In Sept we'll talk about the benefits and challenges of a flipped classroom.
(Note the Sept LCFF is rescheduled to 3pm on Monday Sept 18)
Dartmouth’s Bio13 and Chem52 have both been redesigned to incorporate more content delivery through videos before class so in-class time is focused on facilitated small group activities and discussions. Join the Teaching Science Fellows (former Dartmouth undergrads) working with these classes to chat about the benefits and some of the issues that arise from this type of course format.
In order to cultivate a community focused on teaching and learning amongst graduate students and postdocs, DCAL has established a Learning Community for Future Faculty (LCFF). The focus of this group is to share the rewards and challenges of college teaching, while digging a bit deeper into best practices and techniques for teaching. The LCFF meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the month.
