Science Education Outreach

DCAL has partnered with the Dartmouth Office of Outreach to increase opportunities for students and faculty (including graduate students and postdocs) to share their science knowledge with students in local schools.

About Science Education Outreach

Dartmouth scientists may share some aspect of their current research, work with the teachers to develop a new classroom activity on a related topic, give a Science Cafe, or plan a science camp that meets after school or during school breaks. The school students may learn to do kitchen chemistry, to build rockets from soda bottles, how fossils are formed, or to challenge their minds with mathematical mysteries. Visiting scientists may also assist with or judge school science fairs or provide career information.

Workshops about Science Cafes and other outreach opportunities have been offered throughout the year. Contact Lauren Provost or Cindy Tobery for more information.
